Zendra adds a Member Details block to the customer-details screen in Shopify POS, so staff can see a shopper’s membership status right at the counter. When you look up a customer during an in-person sale, you can tell at a glance whether they’re an active member, which plans they hold, and when their access runs through — without leaving POS.
This is a staff-facing view inside Shopify POS. It requires a recent version of the Shopify POS app, and the staff member must be signed in to POS (not just pinned to the device).
When you’d use this
- A customer asks at the register whether their membership is still active, or what it includes.
- Staff want to confirm a shopper qualifies for member pricing or perks before ringing up the sale.
- You run in-person events or a brick-and-mortar location alongside your online store and want membership context at the point of sale.
How it works
Once your Zendra app is up to date, the Member Details block appears on the customer details screen in Shopify POS. Look up or attach a customer to the cart, open their details, and the block shows their Zendra membership information.
For a customer with an active membership, the block shows:
- An Active Member badge (or Inactive if their access has lapsed).
- How long they’ve been a member — a since date based on their first membership activation.
- A Memberships list: each membership’s plan name, its current status (for example active, trialing, paused, ending, cancelled, or expired), and when access ends (an expiry date, or never expires for open-ended plans).
If the customer has no membership, the block reads Not a member.
The block is read-only — it shows membership context for staff and doesn’t change a membership. To grant, edit, or cancel a membership, use Zendra in the Shopify admin.
Enabling it in POS
The Member Details block is part of Zendra’s POS UI extension and becomes available after your Zendra app updates to the version that includes it. To see it:
- Update the Shopify POS app on your device to a recent version, and make sure your Zendra app is current.
- Sign in to Shopify POS as a staff user. Member details are staff-only information, so a device that’s pinned but not signed in won’t load them.
- Open the customer details screen for any customer (search for or attach a customer, then tap their name) to see the Member Details block.
Common issues
- The block says “Sign in to view membership details.” The POS device is pinned but no staff member is signed in. Sign in to POS as a staff user and the membership details will load.
- “Couldn’t load membership info.” This is a temporary loading error — tap Retry. If it persists, confirm the device has a connection and that Zendra is installed and active on the store.
- The Member Details block isn’t showing at all. Make sure both the Shopify POS app and your Zendra app are up to date; the block ships with a recent version of the extension. Check that you’re on the customer-details screen for a specific customer.
- A customer you expect to be a member shows “Not a member.” Confirm the POS customer is matched to the right Shopify customer record, and that the customer actually has a membership in Zendra (an active or past one).
