Shipping perks reward members at checkout automatically: free shipping, a discount on the rates you already offer, or shipping options only members can choose. Members see them as soon as they log in, with nothing to enter. Free shipping is available on every Zendra plan; discounted shipping and member-only rates are available on the Growth and Plus plans.

When you’d use this

• Offer members free shipping, one of the strongest friction-reducers for repeat buyers.
• Give members a discount on shipping rates rather than fully free shipping.
• Reserve premium options (expedited or express) for members.
• Offer free shipping to members only once their order reaches a minimum amount.

How it works

Zendra offers three kinds of shipping perk. Each one can be limited to specific destination countries so a generous perk doesn’t quietly ship a heavy box across an ocean for free.

• Free shipping: removes the shipping cost for members, offered automatically at checkout. It applies to every member order shipping to the countries you choose, with no order value threshold. Available on every plan.
• Discounted shipping: takes a percentage or fixed amount off the shipping rates you name, for example 50 percent off your expedited rate, or 100 percent off it so members get expedited for free while everyone else pays. The rate has to already exist in your Shopify shipping settings; the perk discounts it, it doesn’t create it.
• Special rates: hides a group of shipping rates from everyone except logged-in members. You choose a name prefix, and any rate in Shopify whose name starts with that prefix is shown only to active members of the plan (and only for the countries you pick). Non-members never see it at checkout.

Both Discounted shipping and Special rates let you pick rates from a list, or type the start of a rate title in Or enter your own rate title, for example Local delivery. The perk then applies to every rate whose title at checkout starts with that text, whatever its capitalization. Shorter text matches more rates, so “Local” would also catch “Local pickup”.

Zendra doesn’t create Shopify shipping rates. The perks work with the rates you set up in Settings » Shipping and delivery in your Shopify admin, either by discounting them, hiding them from non-members, or (for free shipping) offering a free option on top of them.

Controlling the cost

Shipping is usually the perk with the least predictable margin impact, so it pays to scope it:

• Limit by country. Every shipping perk can be restricted to specific destination countries, so you can offer free domestic shipping without extending it to international orders.
• Discount instead of giving away. A 50 percent shipping discount still feels like a member benefit and keeps some of the cost covered.
• Schedule it. Like any Zendra perk, shipping perks can carry a start and end date, so a free shipping window opens and closes on its own, say for a members-only holiday period.
• Add a minimum order amount. The Free shipping perk has no order value threshold, but you can build one with a Special rates perk and a conditional Shopify rate. That recipe is below.

For most stores, the Free shipping perk is the right starting point: it works on every plan, needs no shipping-rate setup, and “members ship free” is the easiest benefit to explain.

Recipe: free shipping for members over a minimum order

If you want members to ship free only when their cart reaches a minimum (say $35), combine a conditional $0 rate in Shopify with a Special rates perk in Zendra. Shopify handles the order minimum; Zendra makes sure only members can see the rate. This uses the Special rates perk, so it’s available on the Growth and Plus plans.

1. Create the conditional rate in Shopify

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings » Shipping and delivery and open the shipping profile and zone that should offer the perk.
2. Add a new rate priced at $0.
3. Name it with a distinct prefix that no other rate uses. We recommend starting the name with Member free, for example Member free shipping. Members will see this name at checkout, so keep it readable.
4. Add a condition based on order amount with a minimum of $35 (or your threshold), so Shopify only offers the rate when the cart qualifies.
5. Save the rate.

2. Protect the rate with a Special rates perk

1. In Zendra, open the membership plan and add a Special rates shipping perk.
2. Under Protect rates that start with…, enter Member free in Or enter your own rate title. Any rate whose name starts with that text is now members-only.
3. Choose the countries where the perk should apply.
4. Save the plan.

A logged-in member whose cart is over $35 and ships to one of those countries sees Member free shipping at $0 alongside your regular rates. Under $35, Shopify never offers the rate, and non-members never see it at any cart size.

Because the rate lives in Shopify, you can add more than one: a Member free shipping rate with a $35 minimum for domestic orders and a Member free international rate with a higher minimum in another zone are both protected by the same prefix.

Common issues

• A member doesn’t see the rate. Confirm they’re logged in with an active membership, that the perk covers their shipping country, and (for the minimum-order recipe) that the cart meets the rate’s condition in Shopify.
• A Special rates perk isn’t hiding anything. The rate name has to start with the text you entered (capitalization doesn’t matter): “Member free shipping” matches Member free, but “Free shipping for members” doesn’t. Check for stray spaces or a different first word.
• Free shipping is showing for everyone. A $0 rate created in Shopify without a protected prefix is a store-wide rate, and every shopper qualifies for it. Either add a Special rates perk with a matching prefix, or delete the rate and use the Free shipping perk, which only ever applies to members.
• A Discounted shipping perk has no effect. The perk discounts an existing rate by name. Check that the rate exists in the customer’s shipping zone and that its title starts with the rate or text you chose.
• A perk applies to more rates than expected. Typed text matches every rate whose title starts with it. Make it longer or more specific, like Local delivery instead of Local.
